We have a "Pathport" container ( kind of large) that we use, we place it on a (designated) cart. When we are done with the extremity, we place it in a large (designated) biohazard (sharps) container which we store in our walk-in refrigerator until time for disposal. We return the "Pathport" container and cart to our Sterile processing department, they decontaminate the "Pathport" and it and the cart are returned to the O.R. area.
