I hope this helps. There are no regulations. We cut 3 levels on all small biopsies, mounted on one slide. 2 sequential sections each level across the top, middle, and bottom. We even mount recut levels the same way and the labels reflect this. Terri

Some mount a ribbon with 4-6 serial sections on one slide. Some work with sliding microtomes (like me) and mount 4 sections with little trimming in between. The background for the question is, that we want to eveluate if there is a diagnostic difference between mounting 3 or 4 single sections on the slide for GI-biopsies. (to reduce workload and scanning time) It would be nice to get your experience with that issue.
