Given just how bad Facebook is a geography it seems strange that a group dealing with accurate geographic data would support it :) But the main objection to Facebook is just how bad it is when it comes to looking back at the history of discussions. Once a thread has no more posts it's almost impossible to find it again. One of the reasons many groups that started on Facebook are looking for a alternative. The bottom line is that there is NOTHING wrong with this channel if it is used properly, the same as any well managed forum. This a place for an alternative to Yahoogroups which provided a good email interface along side the on-line browser, but their 'improvments' to the interfaces have been much the same as Facebook's ... nothing to do with fixing problems and everything to do with increasing advertising revenue. -- Lester Caine - G8HFL ----------------------------- Contact - http://lsces.co.uk/wiki/?page=contact L.S.Caine Electronic Services - http://lsces.co.uk EnquirySolve - http://enquirysolve.com/ Model Engineers Digital Workshop - http://medw.co.uk Rainbow Digital Media - http://rainbowdigitalmedia.co.uk _______________________________________________ Historic mailing list [email protected] https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/historic
