Gardez: The US army suffered
heavily losses during the 16 days war in
Gardez, capital of Afghanistan's
Paktia province, Zarmat and Shahi Kot
areas.
About one dozen helicopters were
destroyed or damaged while one B-52,
one C-130 and a fighter plane
were either destroyed or damaged, our
special correspondent in Gardez
reported.
Informed sources said that
mujahideen used a modern kind of missiles,
which was not being expected by
the Americans.
However, it is not known as to
how and when mujahideen acquired it. The make of the
missile could not
be identified.
Mujahideen fired one of the
missiles on a B-52 plane. Eyewitnesses said they saw a
smoke-emitting
B-52 which fell near Gardez.
The local people said that the
plane had not been destroyed. It had caught fire and
sank into the
ground in an attempt to make an
emergency landing at the old airport of Gardez. The US
troops flew
the plane to Bagram airbase
after repairs. The C-130 is, however, reported to have
been damaged at
Shahi Kot and is still lying
there.
120 Arab, 200 Chechen Mujahideen
took part in Gardez war
Gardez: The number of US troops,
coalition forces and local warriors in Shahi Kot
battle was between 5
to 6 thousand. The number of US
and coalition troops was three thousand and the rest
were local
warriors.
About the number of mujahideen,
unreliable estimates were made by the US. At first,
the Americans
stated the number of mujahideen
to be one hundred. The next day, they said that 200
mujahideen
were present in the area. Later
on, the number of mujahideen was described to be 500
and then 700,
and in the end, mujahideen were
said to be one thousand in number.
The BBC and other media termed
the US estimates as too contradictory to be trusted.
However,
according to the reports
gathered by Dharb-i-Mumin, about 120 Arabs, 200
Chechen and 100
mujahideen of other countries
participated in the war against America.
Americans paid $1,000 for each
dead body
Gardez: A large number of US
troops were ambushed to death by mujahideen in Pir
Galesa area. The
unnerved US troops did not have
the courage to collect the dead bodies of their
comrades. They paid
one thousand dollars for one
dead body to be brought by Afghan warriors.
Before entering the area, the US
troops were escorted by Afghan warriors but on being
attacked by
mujahideen, they scattered far
and wide in the area, making it easy for mujahideen
sitting in ambush
to kill them. The Americans were
so terrified that they did not even go to collect the
dead bodies of
their soldiers. For each dead
body, the Americans paid one thousand dollars to the
local people.
American claim false: Only 60
mujahideen embraced shahadah in Gardez
Gardez: Mujahideen, taking full
advantage of past experiences, adopted a successful
strategy during
the recent fighting in Gardez.
According to the sources, mujahideen had spreaded its
power, based
upon small groups, in an area of
more than 10-15 miles, due to which only 60 mujahideen
drank the
cup of shahadah despite
intensive carpet-bombing and use of anti-oxygen
thermobaric bombs during
the two-week long war.
According to reports received
from Gardez, because of this successful strategy, the
mujahideen have,
once again, succeeded in saving
their manpower.
The Americans had claimed that
they had killed nearly 500 mujahideen in Gardez, but
according to
reliable sources, only 60
mujahideen embraced shahadah during this war. Some
common people might
have been also killed but
nothing can be said about their exact number without
solid proof. Defence
analysts think that in future
also mujahideen will use the same successful and will
adopt the strategy of
'hit and run.'
