I thought that as I was able to dl OB source SDK which is downloading hl2
for OB and source base SDK 2 (appID=218 even if it is not working atm), I
would have at least ability to start SourceSDK normally including the select
box for OB or Ep1.

Sounds really weird to me. I thought it was not required to have OB to start
new SourceSDK. I'm really surprised.

If you dont have any Orange Box games you will have trouble running a
mod let alone running the SDK (at the moment anyhow).

To run the OB code you need an OB engine, currently that is either
HL2:EP2 hl2.exe or TF2 hl2.exe. and their respective AppID's. The dlls
will crash on the older engine (ConCommand changes, etc).

Nobody knows ???

Hi,

I did a fresh install of Steam + "Half-Life 2 Deathmatch" + Source SDK
starting steam with "-beta srcsdk0122" and when I double-click

"SourceSDK"

in my Steam Panel, I can see a "Source SDK -Steam" panel specifying

that

"Source SDK is preparing to start..." then it disappears and I have

nothing

else.
I don't have any parameters to launch SourceSDK.
If I specify "-engine ep1", it is the same problem.
I can't have this window where I can specify if want to use Orange Box
SDK vs ep1 SDK.

Now, if I start steam without specifying "-beta srcsdk0122", it will
reload old SDK and it will work fine with EP1 SDK but I wanted to have

OB

SDK.

Is it due to the fact I only have HL2 (including CSS + HL2MP) or
something else ?

I hope you 'll be able to help me.
