The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a corresponding cpu usage drop at say fps_max 200
hlds and srcds seem to take the same cpu no matter what I set the fps too if its on high res it takes what it take regardless of the fps setting in the server. I could be off on that but I don't see any cpu usage difference. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Whisper Sent: Friday, June 02, 2006 10:52 PM To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: Re: [hlds] 64 or 512 -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Run a hi Res Timer Set fps_max to 200 and you ougth to get your 128fps (or thereabouts) from memory 64 128 256 512 These are fps you tend to see with a high res timer and a fps_max value to suit On 6/3/06, Affordablegameservers.com <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Anyone succeeded in getting their windows box to do something other than > 64 > fps or 512 fps. > > I read this article about changing the timing but i have not had any > success > it doesn't seem to matter. > > http://www.sysinternals.com/Information/bootini.html > > /TIMERES seems to not have any effects it does show up in registry as > loaded > upon reboot but its still 64 or 512. > > I would like to see 128 or 196 etc. > > Thanks > dex > > > > _______________________________________________ > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, > please visit: > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds > -- _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
