kama, this 5.0-current looks as stable as any -RELEASE to me. As you mentioned it's due date is reallt close and most of the core development seems to be done.
The only thisg noticed on the installation Cd is that there aren't many packages already compiled to be installed, on the categories I looked. Not that it matters, after all we have the ports, don't we ? But, back to the point, I don't really think 5.0 is the villain here; Actually, after the mentioned crash, it kept running nice and smooth, and the HLDS process was restart and was back to work again, as expected. So far I've disabled PLBot and the system seems to be running rock solid for the last 14 hours, under heavy load. FreeBSD 5.0 is in the -CURRENT-branch. which means the highely-development-probably-bout-to-crash-branch. ;p This branch should only be used for testing, and FreeBSD states that its not even close to stable.
