kama, this 5.0-current looks as stable as any -RELEASE to me. As you
mentioned it's due date is reallt close and most of the core development
seems to be done.

The only thisg noticed on the installation Cd is that there aren't many
packages already compiled to be installed, on the categories I looked. Not
that it matters, after all we have the ports, don't we ?

But, back to the point, I don't really think 5.0 is the villain here;
Actually, after the mentioned crash, it kept running nice and smooth, and
the HLDS process was restart and was back to work again, as expected.

So far I've disabled PLBot and the system seems to be running rock solid
for the last 14 hours, under heavy load.

For the record, here is a screendump from , while the server was idle:

last pid: 2551; load averages: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00 up 0+14:52:44 07:30:09
19 processes: 1 running, 18 sleeping
CPU states: 1.9% user, 0.0% nice, 7.8% system, 1.2% interrupt, 89.1% idle
Mem: 71M Active, 102M Inact, 58M Wired, 12M Cache, 35M Buf, 2744K Free
Swap: 150M Total, 150M Free

PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND
  464 hlife 8 0 69692K 63956K nanslp 243:26 8.98% 8.98% hlds

I again am running out of memory, which annoys me, but I am going to keep
this server running and see how it behaves.

I'll keep you posted.

FreeBSD 5.0 is in the -CURRENT-branch. which means the
highely-development-probably-bout-to-crash-branch. ;p

This branch should only be used for testing, and FreeBSD states that its
not even close to stable. (Although it was bound to release around this
date). A friend of mine got his whole system wiped when doing a new world
a couple of month ago.

Do that. Im more than eager to know how the tests are going. Im thinking
of going over to 5.0 too. becouse of the much better support of SMP.

Not very uncommon. My server dont log the say message anymore... which i
want to use for a quote-of-the-day message on the website.

that she wants to "have your baby"? i have no babies..
