I am sorry about the screwed up subject line in my last post, hope changing
it now does not really muddle it up.

We just don't see bandwidth to be an issue with BF at all, where are you
getting your information from? I am not saying your wrong because I
honestly don't know how your calculating it or comparing the two. All I
know for sure is that we monitor bandwidth almost casually because neither
HL or BF has ever made a significant impact on our servers allotments.

I have said before that we just do gameservers as a sideline because we
happen to have the available space, hardware and bandwidth. Our business is
commercial websites and our high traffic sites use 10 times the bandwidth
of all our gameservers put together. Even at that, we don't come close to
our cap, usually finishing up the month with about 20-25% of our 1200 GB
used. That has not changed one bit in the last couple of months as we
dumped 12 HL servers and added the BF.

On a server with 4 BF servers (104 slots) were looking like this so far
this month...

Total Out (Up to Server) 106.12 Gb
Total In (Down from Server) 46.05 Gb
Total (In + Out) Bandwidth: 152.16 Gb
Todays Usage 8,333.28 Mb
Approximated Daily Average for Current Month 11,131.07 Mb
Your Monthly Bandwidth Quota is: 1200 Gb
You have used 12.68% of your allowed Bandwidth

On a sever with 2 BF servers (48 slots) and 2 HL servers (36 slots) it
looks like this...

Total Out (Up to Server) 100.74 Gb
Total In (Down from Server) 41.47 Gb
Total (In + Out) Bandwidth: 142.21 Gb
Todays Usage 10,294.72 Mb
Approximated Daily Average for Current Month 10,402.99 Mb
Your Monthly Bandwidth Quota is: 1200 Gb
You have used 11.85% of your allowed Bandwidth
Last Updated: 11/14/03 10:41:24 PM

Those are both dual xeon machines and the only significant difference
between the two in stats is that the one with 2 HL servers is at it's limit
CPU wise and the one running only BF could handle at least one more 16 slot
or possibly a 24 before it would be loaded up.
