1st) I'm using a PS2 converter 2nd) I won't use logitech drivers... 3rd) I won't buy a new mouse day by day, i bought it when it came out, i won't look forward for the newest stuff available... 4th) Do not blame any company on a steam mailing list... It is against steam, sugar... 5th) I'm a software guy, i don't really waste my time with hw stuff. I'm a developer, not a dummy with a soldering-iron in my hand all day. 6th) I wrote an _example_. It means, i'd like to explain that i can have "offline advantages", or "offline handicaps", just because that's life. It wasn't about mice or monitor size. Do you remember? An _example_. Grew up...
If the other player has a low end mouse on PS2, then he will have advantage over you, or you don't know that USB mice produce lower reply rate than a PS2 ? Any doubt please contact your local logitech hotline and take your doubts away, anyway, if you are logitech costumer, for sure you will know that the Mouseman dual optical is still the best gaming mouse ever, and then again, I feel sorry for logitech costumers who use their lame drivers that have a huge problem with Direct Input.

When i was 56k i used to play on a 56k only Jolt server. They simply had a plugin running kicking all pings below 150.
But I could give myself a ping of 150+ and still have an advantage over the 56kers (well unless max rates are enforced but then at the max they would still get loss/choke when I didn't)
C'mon. You don't have advantages, if the rates are forced. On the other hand, you have advantages if you have a more powerful box than the others, because the game won't get laggy for you (i mean "SP lag", not server-client lag). I have an mx510 mouse. I have advantages against a low-end mouse player, etc, etc. You just can't manage it. You have to limit the rates, name the server to contain it is 4 56K players and that's all... You can't and you don't have to do more...
So. There's no solution to be evenhanded in a game, especially with a game like CS.
