running 4 css servers on debian etch, amd64 x2 dual core with 2 ips (2x
port 27015 and 2x port 1337) -> no lag.

btw: i hope admins getting lag tried shutting down all srcds but one...

multiple servers on a box or not) and some input for you to discuss,
share, check, compare, think and bitch about ...
