They are in there as of 2.6.21 kernels (I think). It's in the same config
page as the processor type/kernel hz.
They are awesome. Basically, instead of telling the kernel "check for stuff
to do every 1ms" it tells the kernel "do stuff when there is stuff to do".
So if the server is idle, it theoretically uses less CPU and power.

I haven't tried TF2, so I couldn't tell you. I don't think by much
though. Personally, I prefer dynamic ticks. Even better than 1000HZ IMO

Its currently the only server running on the machine (AMD X2 4200+) with

Tyan server mobo, and low latency memory.
The OS used is Debian Etch 4.0 on the latest stable kernel.
I have set -tick 66 in the command line, and fps_max 300. The CPU load
is
around 60-70% on one core for the full server.
Any suggestions how i can get the FPS higher?
