I found out that setting CPU_MHZ environmental variable (in script or in 
command line) to value lower then the actual frequency of CPU (say, by 
100MHz) helps a bit but it still crashes, just less frequently, so it's 
not much of a workaround. I haven't seen anything else posted here or 
anywhere else.
