Hi,

I have been a .net developer since 2001 and therefore my daily
operating system is Windows 7.
To play with Hobo, I have installed ruby, rails and Hobo in Windows 7
with no issues. Also, I have installed all of the same components in
Ubuntu 9.10 as well.

>From your daily real experience as a Ruby on Rails & Hobo developer,
do you still recommend Windows 7 platform? I heard that some
plugins / gems can not be installed in Windows environment.

What I have installed in my Windows 7 were Ruby 1.8.6, Rails 2.3.5,
Hobo 1.0, SQLite3, Formtastic, Niffty-Generators, Ruby-Debug 0.9.3,
and NotePad++. I have installed the same components in Ubuntu, and
it looks like they all run faster in Linux environment too.

My intention is to keep one single O/S around me if possible, and I am
still leaning forward Windows vs Ubuntu but need to hear your
professional advice on this ;-)

Also, what other plugins or gems do you frequently use with Hobo?
Besides paperclip, I'd like to know what other gems are widely used
with Hobo to build your applications.

Thank you again for your valuable comments!

Jae
