Hi Joyce and all,

Thanks for your reply, Joyce :-)

Francis came over and did some trouble shooting.
Windows only started in save mode !!!
The problem turned out to be that the new soundcard is a bit loose and 
was dislocated when I changed the plug for the speakers for the plug of 
the headphones.
So after trying a lot of things, just pushing the soundcard up a bit 
fixed windows, AND the sound on the computer.
LOL

Good thing too, or I would have missed Curlchat tomorrow.
(still not operational in my Linux OS)

Skype is uninstalled anyway for now; just to be safe.

When sound is fixed in Linux Francis will install Linux Skype, but so 
far Linux is mute.
