Hello holygeek,

When I need a piece of freeware I look here first

       http://www.pricelessware.org/

(they have recently revamped their website)

To me a piece of software is good if it can be thrown about a bit

When everyone was using Outlook
I found outlook express was far more rulable

Eventually I had to go over to Eudora because
outlook express had a habit of losing emails
when the number reached a certain size

Eudora is excellent and I used it without trouble for many years

I very much wanted to use Pegasus Mail
(I spent 5 intense weeks with this program) but in the end
it just was losing too much email and was not transparent enough
(I very much had to think about using it)

I am now using Foxmail (downloading 45000 spam/email)
and apart from the spell checker which you
have to train this has proved very reliable.

Why am I using this instead of Thunderbird (an excellent OS system)?
Speed. Thunderbird is slow on older systems - Foxmail is not.

Some of you (it is very common) do not use an e-mail program
preferring to read direct from the browser.

How wonderful to have a choice.

Despite having FireFox (a cut down Mozilla/Netscape) on my system
I still end up using Opera.
It is fast and reliable

Opera is also available for Linux (Foxmail is not)

Another program I have a growing respect for (it is proving
very reliable) is openoffice
