Good luck with sound, Desi... it's been such a long wait for you.

This works for me, but does it conflict with the metta practice?

Thank you.
I used to have 286 luggable
The one with the amber screen? The case looked like a portable sewing machine? I have that one, too... One day, when she was 5, Lizzie changed ALL of the icons on the desktop to be one that she thought was very pretty. This was years ago, before i knew how to put them back to the right ones. I told her with a slight edge of panic in my voice that they looked beautiful and um, could she put them back so Mommy knows what program is what... And of couse she figured it out, LOL.
- perfectly OK for writing
and probably quite a lot of stuff . . .
My old Macs are like that - lots of great software and things that can be done with older computers.

I am using Miranda
and what you say makes sense but does not work
In Miranda, get to the Options menu (click on the crown), then underneath the Events item click "Ignore". That seems to be the place for those sorts of settings, looks self explanatory to me.
I just logged in to Miranda for the first time in a couple of months, and was pleased at how it auto updated my contacts. Slick.
I registered on a couple of Jabber orgs back in the Spring - mostly i like the Swiss one - the aura of Swiss neutrality appeals to me. :)
I have not yet, however, actually received any Jabber messages from people, so still in test mode with it.

How about Sunday 26 Sept at 2100 GMT as our start?
Works for me.
Not sure what you mean to convey
- Opera has an excellent easy to use transfer window that opens up to show
what you are downloading and its progress (giving an accurate idea of
how long it will take)
Gosh, what i typed came out garbled, my apologies. All i was saying is that usually when you download a program and select the option to save it to disk (as opposed to running it realtime during the download) - usually you are prompted for a file path for the save location - Firefox does NOT give you that prompt until you configure it to do so.

The more the merrier. :)

You too eh . . .
LOL
LOL, you guys!
We could maybe go for a window chat
in other words rather than an hour of chat we
go for 2 or even 3 hour slots
Good idea, especially for those of us who are chrono-impaired.
with the times we will try and make?
This is why I have made it two weeks hence so we get times
and (loose) commitments together - maybe even make it a month from now?
I also suggest - using Joyce's movable feast idea
and have it one of these forums that most of us are on
insightpractice
ruminations
nasrudin
Good idea to float amongst the forums.
then we arrange another one on another forum for a week or two weeks hence . . .
so what we do is set a place and time slots
try and say who is coming and when and for how long
and do our best
:-)
All we can do is do our best. May it be enough.
love and peace,
joyce
Lob
