Subject: Re: [HolyGeek] FireFox question
and a Geek resource
I installed FireFox yesterday and I was
impressed. However, I ran into a problem: no sound -- neither midi
files nor "streaming media" played. I don't know if this is due to
FireFox, my installation, or some setting that I need to change. For
those of you who use FireFox, do you get sound?
It successfully launches and plays clips
with RealPlayer when i click on links from website. When i visit the
Panhala.net site, it does not autoplay the midis, but when i left click on the
music link, it successfully launches and plays the midis with winamp. I tested
on of the NDHighlights issues and it does not autoplay the midi embedded in
the email.
Guessing that there is an html code convention that it
does not recognize? Wondering if it uses codes that are more like
Netscape?
BTW, very fine Panhala today - both segments. And
congrats to you and Panhala on the second anniversary.
FWIW, ran into another problem but found a
fix. In case anyone else runs into the same problem: FireFox crashed
repeatedly when I tried to import my IE settings. However, when I
imported one item at a time (from a list of things to import) rather than
"all at once," no problem.
Also, for those who want to be overwhelmed
with technical information, the UseNet group alt.binaries.e-book.technical
has about a bizillion manuals and "how to" books on computers.
"Let's be careful out there."
Yes.
From Hill Street Blues?
Thanks for the tech link, too.
love and peace,
joyce
