I was looking for a simple
ISO MD5 checksum verifier (had one before)

(I must say that my ISO's IF they download are always OK)

found what is my next ISO burn
this . . .

http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

(Contains ways of checking for viruses from DOS incidentally - think I saw that)

When you download a ISO a small piece of text is usually included in the
same directory this is the ISO checksum - if you check your download image
against it you will be certain it has copied OK
and you can then burn it

Most people use NERO for burning
the problem with this is it is often given away with CD burners
and is specific to that one.

When you learn and use freeware - if you upgrade or use different hardware
the software still works (it is non specific)

I have learnt many commercial packages that have been abandoned
or I can not afford the upgrades or they no longer work on new OS etc

- open source (that is used) tends to be in continual improvement
AND optimisation. It also benefits the commercial sector who create bigger and better
and simpler
progs based on it . . .

A Win Win situation (with apologies to the Linux users for using the word 'Win')
