Hi Lobster -

Thanks for the explanation. The computer with the CD burner is the one I still cannot get on the net...but I WILL get it on the net one day... The new computer at work as a CD/DVD burner on board.

======================

Even DVD burners are getting cheap.
I find (men especially) are terrified of appearing
as if they don't know about cars and computers. LOL

I have a DVD plyer (never used it). I suppose I could watch DVD movies on it.
I want to get a good Linux on my hard drive - vector was a small download - (300 meg is small?)

smallish I should say . . .

======================

That is good to know - it is just I personally have found only two progs that worked.
I am sure many more do and the fault was with me

=====================

As I recall some form of NT server still has that folder name length limitation in effect?

===================

that is possible I do not know :-)

===================

All fixed. I downloaded their latest updates overnight, and voila! I kept ignoring their autodownload - well, i kept escaping out of it for a couple of months until just now. :)

==============

should have thought of that

I had the some problem with AOL - and I also refused
to 'upgrade'

When I did the solution came with the upgrade . . .

- Linux does not crash? - maybe in penguin land but in the real?

Linux crashed? Oh my. Lions and tigers and penguins, oh my.

==========

Linux and some of the progs are flakey
at times. When it is all configured nicely it works well

(like WIndows then)

Gonna try curlchat now :-)
