You are kind to people who do not deserve your time or attention. They are there for amusement and stimulation. We all have such requirements. It may not be possible to rescue this group. If you feel they are a waste of time - close the group. New ones will form. However sometimes you have to ask the right question in the rite way It is a ritual - it involves sacrifice.
