Dear Lob and All -

I replied to this post last night before falling asleep  next to the computer.

I am sure i did.

I remember exactly what i wrote.

I remember signing love and peace at the bottom.

And yet, when i checked mail this morning and also on the HolGeek web, my post is nowhere to be found.

Was it all a dream?

:)

From what I know Salem never had anything except teenage
high spirits (in the way of witches)

Even here they are coming to realize that. Within the past month or so our government has floated a motion to pardon all of the innocents they murdered in the name of witch hunting back in the 1600's.

      like the sheep - or it the goat . . .  ?

Kings have usually been more evil than bats

goats too are delicious and harmless

mmmmm goat cheese... goat milk

Olive oil I believe was sacred to Athena and tomatoes to Aphrodite

basil is an anaphrodisiac (sexual calminative) related food
related to the Indian 'tulsi' - not sure of spelling
      - but not sure of the attribute

So, by extrapolation (is that the right word?), tomatoes are considered a stimulant and basil is a calminative, so putting both in the olive oil sacred to Athena, they would cancel each other out? And so serious Buddhists who adhere to the proscription against tomatoes would have no worries?  Is the notion of basil as an antidote to tomatoes stretching things a bit too much?

bread is of course an epithany

That is a wonderful _expression_. Really, it just feels so true.

love and peace,

PS - In a post earlier you mentioned adding some Christian aspects to the Peace Wiki. I've uploaded a pic to our photobucket that might be appropriate (or not). I live nextdoor to a monastery and retreat house that has a large illuminated cross on the top of the hill. The Comet is HaleBopp.

The cross was not illuminated when the photo was taken, btw, though it is lit every night after dark.

I am not sure if the monks are into the moon and the stars and meteors in the same way that i am, but i have noticed that on nights of meteor showers and when the comet was present, they did not light up the cross. I like to think that they were being mindful of light pollution, allowing us all a better view of heaven.
