Hi Joyce, ts and all,

I've been using AVG for quite some time.
It used to not scan my Thunderbird mail client.
But ... email is scanned by wanadoo too, so I kept AVG for checking
internet and downloads.
A few days ago I had a notice that AVG 7.0 is out and I installed the
freee edition.
This one clearly DOES scan Tunderbird and also auto-updates when windows
is loading.
On one occansion it blocked a message with a text file attached. (must
have thought it was a virus) But this only happened once as far as I
know, when I was running a full check.
For the most part I think AVG 7.0 is quite wonderful.
But I keep checking messages at the server for a while to see if it will
happen more that reliable attachments are blocked.

weird ts, that it blocks your mail program...

Love,
Desi
