Dear Friends - I am still unable to get online from home - the dial up connection drops out after 2-4 minutes online MAXIMUM... and the connection speeds i've established have been in the range of 300, 1200, 1900, and 7200 (and no, i did not omit a zero in any of them, lol).
I am thinking it may be a dirty phone line? Virus scanned the laptop and ran the usual spyware detectors, but all came up clean. System resources are usually about 88% available on the laptop and i notice that it is now running in the low 70s, which tells me that some process might be running that i am not aware of. Thanking people in advance for any insights they might have. "It's coming on Christmas...
