======= I was told it will NOT run XP Why would it not run XP? You have enough disk, you have enough RAM...the fine points of this are over my head. ==========
Well it is (quite rightly so) branded as a 'Time' computer and I seem to remember they had some compatiblity problems When you install XP it checks the compatibility of your hardware and whether drivers exist . . . The source of the incompatibility may have been sorted in the recent free XP SP (security patch) disk - now this may seem odd - especially as Linux WILL run on it but I also found that I could not use the 512 meg ram in the old machine but it worked OK in the new (they have the same 2 simm slots and they SHOULD both run it) At the moment I have one partition of 10 meg (40 meg available) and getting Win 98SE will be the first task :-) Lob ------------------------ Yahoo!
