I haven't seen that particular horn, but I have had the opportunity to play some other horns made by George McCracken over the years and have had the opportunity to "talk shop" with him. All the horns I tried were unconventional in appearance but they all were a joy to play and mechanically superb. I have no doubt that the 8 valve Bb is similarly "transparent" in operation, meaning that the horn is not getting in the way of making music in any way. George is a true genius and is capable of making an entire horn using only a file and a hammer if necessary. Mechanically, not a problem!
