But all are different: Marschallin - dramatic soprano, Sophie - young  
soprano, perhaps near coloratura soprano, Octavian: mezzo  
soprano .........

Magic flute has all three voices: soprano, mezzo, alto (the three  
ladies !), but also tenor Cherubino, bariton Papageno, Basso -  
Sarastro, another soprano - Papagena, a character tenor - Monostatos,  
a heroe tenor - one of the temple guards, even a speaker, and the  
coloratura soprano Queen of the Night .....
