I'd let you borrow my laser printer but it's currently printing out a copy of
the internet for myself. The postage for me to mail that would be something
fierce. I may be able to let you download a PDF though!

Something else I thought is that while I do like the idea of CDs (and a
physical copy), I usually immediately rip them to my networked media server so
I don't have to shuffle CDs around and it becomes quite convenient that way.
Plus I don't have to travel with CDs and I can make my own playlists or just
take my entire library with me... or most of it.

If the costs were the same I'd prefer both. Generally digital copies are
cheaper though and considering that once I buy and rip a CD it usually never
get's opened again and collects dust anyway.

The booklets and inserts though are one thing I do miss. If you get some albums
off of certain... illegal... methods (cough TORRENT cough) you're sometimes
lucky enough to have a nice scanned copy of the booklet or the insert and even
the cover. Not that I'd officially condone such a thing, mind you. Although, if
you do plan on buying the album, it's a great way of getting the inserts and
previewing parts of tracks you can't really do in iTunes. You may want to hear
one particular section that isn't available for preview, for example.

You don't get to download the inserts/booklets with iTunes though - and I
really wish you had that option.

Somehow, I'd have a CD, and out of habit more than anything else, I'd
probably prefer to purchase that way. I could just as easily burn a CD,
print out a label and a jewel case insert, and put it on my shelf as the
backup copy that a CD really is, but I'd rather that all be done up front.
For whatever reason, I like a physical presence of some things. I also
don't like online billing statements, as I'm much more likely to ignore or
lose track of them than I am a strategically torn-open envelope. They all
invite you to print one for your records, but until they start charging
extra for it, I'm going to have them send me a paper statement.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to print out a copy of the internet.
