Perhaps the biggest factor in endurance is learning, as James Winter
put it, to "play freely." That is, let the air do as much of the work
as possible, and let the embouchure muscles do as little. This may be
something that each player has to learn how to do for himself. I
worked on it after hearing Winter talk about it at an IHS workshop
decades ago, and the effect wasn't subtle.

I find that practicing lip slurs helps build the corner muscles and
thus endurance. In particular, the "ultimate lip slur" (i.e., the lip
trill) will work wonders at building chops.
