Maybe we could all write to Wenger and request that they make chairs that aren't for people who are 30 feet tall or more. I don't for the life of me understand what they're thinking. I remember when our orchestra got a set of those damn things. We had two violinists whose feet didn't reach the floor at all. It took me a long time to realize that those chairs were affecting my playing in a bad way. I recovered one of the older "normal" chairs and the stage hands were happy to make sure I had "my" chair at every service. Mostly because it pissed the management off royally. I have a friend who brings his own chair to freelance gigs. A pain in the butt, but probably well worth it. I have an old Steelcase chair (made in Michigan!) you know, the kind they used to have in offices that have the grey legs and the green plastic seat pad. I covered it in black and painted the frame flat black. It's a great height for me and I've schlepped it to quite a few gigs.
