Not sure what the NPR piece would be, but if you're looking for something a
little jazzy, try "Just Desserts" by Lowell Shaw (I think I have that
right...)
A lovely collection of jazz - flavored pieces which can be played by horn alone
or horn and bass - I think the bass part would work nicely transcribed for bass
clarinet.
