Hello list,

Awhile back I was fortunate to come into ownership of an Alex 307 horn. It's a
beautiful sounding and well balanced horn. Up until now I have persevered with
the horn sitting in B flat/F/High F. However, I feel more comfortable with it
siting in F/B flat/High F. My question is this, how, if at all possible, can I
restring the change valve to sit in F so that the change valve key is used to
switch to the B flat horn? Those of you who know this model horn will
understand that a single valve arm/ligature  (strung in place only) is used to
link and operate the main change and f alto valves. I have tried restringing
but cannot get the valves in question to move from F to B flat. Can someone
with first hand experience of this model horn please share their knowledge with
regards to this dilemma for me. Many thanks.
Greetings from Australia,

Brian.
