Maybe he was referring to the fact that in each of the three countries they drive VW cars. What I and most USA people do believe is that the evidence presented in General Powell's presentation to the UN was not done on some person's computer overnight.The in-space pictures taken were obtained by using technology developed by German engineers (rockets and cameras from space--- World War Eye Eye technology);and being of German heritage I can trust in the technology that gathered the evidence presented. Where have I heard the term "German Engineered" before???
I think it is simply wishful thinking to say all evidence was faked, or even that there were not hundreds of Kirds killed by poison gas but Iraq will only use the gas in Iraq and not Munich or my hometown. The deaths of thousands in Iraq must have been faked also; where have I heard that before?? Maybe associated with the word Holocaust by some speakers who don't believe documented history. Sometimes I wonder if some places on earth only are living under an illusion of peace and wishful thinking. Actually we all may have been living under illusions and wishful thinking for 58 years now; but times are changing---we are waking up and smelling the coffee. Since any war with Iraq is not about oil you really cannot say Europe will be impacted but the USA will not; oil is oil no matter where it comes from. We in the USA also have millions of guest workers of all religions as Germany does; we seem to get along with ourselves fairly well but more hassles from outside countries lately. The local press today stated at over 50% of children born in California are of Hispanic nationality; the most common name for males born in Sweden is Mohammed. I think Hans,if Austria or Germany want to step in and help resolve world problems be our guest; but we in the USA are not going to hold our breaths waiting for you to start. It was in the New York Times Newspaper today that unemployment in the USA has hit a 20 year high. Gasoline is at 41.2 cents USA per liter at my corner petro station---why that's almost 1/2 euro per liter!!!! German petro in Munich is probably higher because they get Iraq oil; and the leader of Iraq we all know now probably needs the money for medical research into toxins. The only country that appears to be doing real well lately is China which makes tons of "German Engineered" french horns at a fraction of the cost of real USA or German made instruments; they make their profit by selling in volume.Maybe I should get one of their real doubles and when it gives out,buy a new one---I could go through 10 of their instruments for the price of a Conn 8D here in the USA.
