Not at all, but the back bore is working, if there is any (Bernoulli !),
as there is not much space left anyway.

The back bore just influences "tone production" by the light
"depression" after the sound hole (narrowest point). It keeps the sound
alive easier by the help of this depression ("sucking the sound in")
