Hello to all and Happy New Year! I was recently most fortunate in purchasing a used Lewis. It plays as for years I had dreamed and hoped for. Anyone out there know the "specs" for these horns? Just curious.
Oh--my Schilke 31B fits the pipe very differently on this horn -- it's about a quarter inch out, notable by the discoloration of the shank which for years had been completely inside my other horn's pipe. I notice the Lewis plays ever-so-slightly-slightly flat, too, this way -- with the slides virtually all the way in. May I conclude that the mp's position might actually affect the horn's tuning?
