    For that matter, a lot of people might consider expanding their practice

PS, don't forget to listen.  Go to concerts, get free tickets from your 
teacher.  Buy a turntable (what's that?) and get all the standard literature 
and 
then some at the second hand store on vinyl for probably under $100.  Or go to 
the library and listen for free.  Common at auditions:  "This person has 
obviously never heard the piece".
