Wow! That's really nice. Now I really regret not going into the Kungliga Hovkapellet when I was in Stockholm last year. There's just so much to see in Stockholm it is hard to choose.
I was poking around their web site a bit and discovered that they list the entire orchestra: http://www.hovkapellet.com/sv/musiker/lista.do Not just the current orchestra but if you enter a year into the little box and press the "sök" button, it will give you that year's roster back as far as 1898! Or, look at each previous year by clicking on "« föregående säsong". Oh, and if you click the player's name it will give a bio and photo. Yes, even for the historic ones! Here's their principal and 4th hornists from 1898: http://www.hovkapellet.com/grafik/biografier/413/C_ALMGREN.jpg http://www.hovkapellet.com/grafik/biografier/330/G_W_P_SODERSTEDT.jpg This seems like a tremendous resource for someone with interest in the history of classical music in Sweden. I only wish I could read more than a few words of Swedish. -- Bruce Kelley in Redmond, Washington, USA -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Graham Jarvis Sent: Monday, September 25, 2006 1:09 AM To: horn@music.memphis.edu Subject: [Hornlist] Video - Siegfried Horn Call Hi listers I just came across this video on the Swedish Royal Opera House homepage and thought it might be of interest. The text gives some background to the Long Call in its context. The hornplayer is Annamia Eriksson. I heard her give a recital of music for Horn and harp during the summer and was very impressed. http://www.hovkapellet.com/sv/artiklar/visa_artikel.do?original_id=34 regards, Graham _______________________________________________ post: horn@music.memphis.edu unsubscribe or set options at http://music2.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/brucek%40w-link.net _______________________________________________ post: horn@music.memphis.edu unsubscribe or set options at http://music2.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
