Hello Mara, as PandolfiĀ“s advive is perfect but also time consuming & not too practical, I would just ring up the airline & tell them your problem. I do this on my international flights if checking a Wagnertuba or so. They are very helpful but asking sometimes to check the instrument, but will allow you to bring it on board by yourself (for smaller aircrafts). The horn gets a special tag <delivery at the gate> or so. For bigger aircrafts, no problems, but you have to endure their questions. They might have a look into the horn case - just for curiosity. O.K. no screwdriver or pliers allowed inside the case. ============================================================ ============================================================ ==============

I am flying from Detroit to JFK airport (NYC) on Northwest Airlines at the end of this month with a fixed bell horn. My purpose for going to NYC is to have the bell detached. I am obviously concerned about getting it on the plane without having it checked. Does anyone have any advice or opinions? Thanks, Mara _______________________________________________ post: horn@music.memphis.edu unsubscribe or set options at http://music2.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/hans%40pizka. de _______________________________________________ post: horn@music.memphis.edu unsubscribe or set options at http://music2.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
