Cryogenic is a special physical therapy & a good financial
therapy for those doing the cryogenics, as it eventually
promises to improve the playing quality of a horn
dramatically (I dont know, how it works for tuba or trumpet,
while for trombones, altohorns & mellophonse it would be
useless anyway. But be aware, that the molecules, brought to
a different direction by the cryogenics, will flip back to
the old direction, if the temperature is back to normal. But
some people swear, that the horn is so much improved then,
that practising is obsolete & the horn will nearly play as
stand alone device ........

A study of the effect of cryogenics on trumpets has already been done. In a
blind test, there was no perceptible difference between the subject trumpets
before and after cryongenic treatment. There are, of course, two camps:
those who believe it absolutely will improve the instrument (or at least
certain instruments in certain conditions), and those who believe it is only a
treatment for the wallet. Pick your side and argue away!
