While wre on the topic of Haendel, are there other imporant horn solos

Richard Burdick
Yes. I have a 2-volume set of Händel excerpts: "Händel Etudien Für
Waldhorn", herausgegeben von Kurt Janetzky, VEB Friedrich Hofmeister,
Musikverlag, Lepizig, 1959. Volume 1 is #7263, volume 2 is #7289. Each
book has 50 pages of excerpts, presumably from all the operas, oratorios
and orchestral works that have non-trivial passages for horns.
