I don't have ready access to a piano and thought purchasing an electronic
key board would be useful a tool in horn studies.

Question: Just why do you think this is true? The premise is hardly
an unreasonable one, but whether and how you go about it depend
greatly on your background and how you intend to use this "tool."

Do you already play keyboard, even minimally? If not, in what way do
you propose to use a keyboard? Learning keyboard is a excellent
adjunct for any musician, but requires an amount of long-term
dedication. It seems you have some different use in mind.

There seems to be a wide range of such devices available, including ones
that work in conjunction with a PC.
