Well, at least some brits call it a leaderpipe. I heard Merewether call it that a lot, but then wasn't he from Australia? I think he also used the term in his book.

I've never heard it called that over here - we usually call it a mouthpipe (as opposed to a bagpipe - and let's face it, everybody's opposed to the
bagpipe)
