I'm wondering if I missed something. The NY Phil horn section is one
fantastic horn section and if somebody missed a note it's hardly a hanging
offense, even here in Massachusetts. I don't think any of them need any
excuses.

Gosh, Hans, you seem bound and determined to blame the problems on the
"sports models", by which I assume you mean their Schmid horns. Am I
understanding you, or am I getting that wrong?

Bad food in China or Korea, kiddy, Debbie ? No hot water to take a shower ?
Not in places where orchestras of that calibre stay, not in a hotel where
they stay as "state guests". Covering a part on short notice ? For a
symphony, which most of them can write down by memory. - I got the call once
on tour just two hours before the concert, I had to play not just Don Juan &
4 last songs, but also Alpine symphony & Salomes dance after having played
Bruckner 8 the day before & had to play it the next day again in the
Musikverein (the Strauss program) & the Bruckner once more the after next
day. That is normal life for professionals in travelling big orchestras. -
No, it was the confusion on these sports models. They have so many keys

There were 4 most likely 5 players on stage.

Hans, you know better then most the difficulties of touring.
Bad food the night before, no hot water to take a shower, instrument trunks
delayed, someone sick and covering a part on short notice.

None having to do with displeasure at being in NK.
