Just on the subject of chairs, at the BBC in Manchester (and presumably elswhere too) they have adjustable chairs. The legs have numbered marks on them and you just set each leg to your required height. Sounds like sense to me - we don't all have the music stand at the same height (although I once played for one lunatic who insisted on such nonsense.) Only problem was, we were playing there once and I had to switch between first and third horn. I'm a little chap, the other 1st/3rd horn...... errmmm... well, isn't.
