We have a 30 unit M.M. in music here at the University of Idaho's Lionel Hampton School of Music. That could make a 1-year program if one took 15 credits a semester, which is possible if one does not have a Teaching Assistantship or other responsibilities. However, in all the years I have been on the faculty (since 1984), only one of our students (a very bright composer) actually completed the degree in one year.
