I have one and find it okay but it needed some attention. When I bought it
not all the crooks were in tune and I eventually had the main tuning slide
section cut short and stockings made. I now know which crooks need the
stockings and which don't. A friend of mine had a similar problem but
reversed -
he had to have an extra section added. Both horns work well now after being
doctored.

One problem has been with the soldering on the crooks - several have had to
be re-soldered (and I tend to look after my instruments)

Tuning was a bit of a problem to begin with but like anything else, practice
helped. The tone quality is good and the slots easy to find, much easier
than playing the f side of my Alex.

I like it very much.

Jiracek do two (at least) versions - one with a small bell and one larger.
I've played both and prefer the larger bell for orchestral work, the smaller
one for solo.

One of my colleagues has a much more expensive well known make - I preferred
my Jiracek to his and so did he.

Cheers,

Lawrence
