If you have very loose slides or play in hot places you may find
motorcycle chain grease suitable. A short squirt from a spray can
produces a foam which spreads out and then "sets" in a film. It's
pretty sticky and doesn't "melt" like slide grease does. And you can
use the rest of the can on your bike. :-)
