Hello, I believe there is a misunderstanding of the request being made. As many individuals are stuck at home, there are people and organizations requesting *virtual* mapathons so that those at home can keep busy and socialize online while also supporting a good cause.
And the purpose is not necessarily to map resources related to the COVID-19 response, but one of the several active tasks available. We are all rather consumed by the COVID response at the moment but there are still disasters and issues around the world that require our support. I hope that helps clarify the message!
