Size , speed. There are some limitations in CF (for example, number of 
CFThreads at one time) that aren't present in Railo. (In some situations, you 
can bypass those limitations with a CF Enterprise license)

For the most part, it's 100% code compatible with ACF (only real problems I've 
run into when porting apps over was some CFForm issues, on non-standard input 
types)

Has some interesting innovations: CFML based event gateways, giving each site 
its own admin (with there being a "global" server admin), an extensions manager 
that supports things like memcached, mongo, etc.
