Richard,
I just cut an 18" piece off my roll of glossy paper and printed using the
front manual feed as per your suggestion. I very carefully examined the
print for signs of roller marks. I didn't find any!!

This is really incredible! I have spent many, many hours trying to fix this
problem or find a workaround! I had actually given up!

Thanks so much for responding to my post! I am very, very relieved that my
printer is still usable and that I can print glossy images!

Thanks again!

To the people offering DJ130 printers for sale--thanks but it turns out that
I don't need one after all...

Marge,

Is this from the roll feed or the front feed? If its due to the roll feeder
(and you aren't going to run a huge number of prints or massive panoramas or

something) you might consider just "butchering" the roll paper and using the
front feed on the printer. this is the way I normally use mine and I've
actually found it kind of helpful in mounting because I could do it ahead of
time and let the paper flatten some (I don't know who decided on that tiny
core
size for such heavy paper, but that wasn't one of their best decisions).

There used to be a tremendous amount of net traffic about this problem, and
I seem to recall at least one web article on how somebody "fixed" this
themselves in among all the diatribes on beating up HP about the problem.

Good Luck,

Does anyone have a Designjet 130 for sale? I need to replace my current
DJ130 because, now that I am ready to print for framing I found that the
prints all contain lines of faint scratches all along the print, from the
rollers. You can only see them if you view the print from an angle but then
they are extremely apparent!
I don't know what I can do to correct the problem-the rollers that grab the
paper and push it into the printer just seem to be pushing a bit too hard.
It's especially apparent on glossy paper. I'm using HP Premium Plus Photo
Gloss paper.
Anyway, I would like to purchase a printer that does not have this problem -
especially interested in one in the pacific northwest so I could pick it up
and avoid possible damage in shipping. I live near Seattle...
Thanks,
Marge
