Multiple ADF scan jobs must use batch mode. Xsane is worthless for batch
scanning so use scanimage. The following command works ok on our OJ V40
using HPLIP.

scanimage -d hpaio:/usb/OfficeJet_V40?serial=CN27VA30062N -v -b
--batch-scan=yes -y 300
